URGENT: Cry for Help from 2,000+ Contract Doctors – KKM’s Neglect and Injustice
I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to urgently highlight the ongoing mistreatment faced by over 2,000 contract doctors by the Ministry of Health (KKM). These healthcare workers have been enduring relentless stress and uncertainty due to constant cancellations and rescheduling of placements.
JUST LAST NIGHT, A NEW EMAIL WAS SENT AT 11:45 PM ANNOUNCING ANOTHER POSTPONEMENT AND A NEW DATE FOR REPLACEMENT.
Here’s a timeline of the situation:
– On 27th February, we already went through the e-placement process and were to report duty to our respective JKN in May. Suddenly,
– On 6th March, we were informed that our first e-placement was CANCELLED with no explanation. Despite repeated calls and visits to Putrajaya, we received no clarification.
– We were then informed of a rescheduled e-placement on 17th March.
– Last night (15th March) at 11:45 PM, less than two days before the new date, we received another email stating that the e-placement has been postponed again to 25-27th March.
This continuous disruption is causing immense emotional and mental strain on us.
The constant rescheduling has disrupted our personal and professional lives:
– On-call schedules are constantly changing, forcing us to sacrifice time with patients, colleagues, and family. Workload and patient care responsibilities are shifted to other colleagues, increasing stress and causing delays in patient care.
– We’ve had to request leave multiple times, only to have it rendered useless through cancellations. This mental exhaustion is taking a toll on us.
– We are forced to travel long distances to urban areas or cybercafes to access the internet for e-placements, which drains both our time and finances.
– Childcare arrangements have been altered repeatedly due to last-minute changes, adding more stress to our already overwhelming situation.
– We are mentally exhausted, emotionally drained, and many of us are considering quitting in large numbers due to KKM’s unprofessional handling.
This treatment is a betrayal of our dedication and hard work. After years of training, we are being treated as disposable. So many other problems in kkm already, UNDERSTAFFED , OVERWORK, BURNT OUT, LOW SALARIES. SALARIES WORKLOAD MISMATCH. We’ve already closed our eyes and worked our asses off like laborers, dedicating ourselves to the cause, and yet we are met with nothing but disrespect. Still, we remain dedicated to working for our country.
OUR DEMAND IS SIMPLE: Please reinstate the original 27th February e-placement. We still want to work for our country and serve its people. The repeated delays are beyond frustrating, and we need KKM to be consistent and professional in handling our placements.
WE ARE REACHING OUT FOR YOUR HELP to raise awareness about this situation and amplify our voices. This issue has reached a breaking point, and it is crucial that KKM is held accountable for its neglect of healthcare professionals. We deserve stability, respect, and the opportunity to serve the country without constant disruption.
THIS IS A CRY FOR HELP from over 2,000 contract doctors who are questioning their future in the medical field. Your support can help bring attention to this injustice and demand accountability from KKM.
Together, we can demand a fair and just resolution for all contract doctors in Malaysia. Your influence can make a difference.
PLEASE HELP US
